Make it Mersey Cares in 2025
As the new year gets underway, are you ready to make a difference? Whether you're looking for a personal challenge, would like to improve your physical and mental wellbeing, or would like to try something you've never done before, our new portfolio of fundraising challenges has something for everyone! And the best thing is, as you do something positive for yourself, you'll also be supporting people across our communities.
As the official charity of Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust, Mersey Cares is dedicated to supporting mental health and community services across Merseyside and Cheshire, bringing to life projects beyond the typical scope of the NHS. We're able to do some amazing things thanks to those who sign up to our challenges - raising vital funds to improve the experiences of those we care about across the region.
Why #MakeItMerseyCares?
Our #MakeItMerseyCares campaign is all about giving people the chance to challenge themselves—whether physically, mentally, or creatively—while supporting a cause that can make a real difference. This year, we’re inviting individuals, teams, businesses, and organisations to participate in a wide range of fundraising events throughout 2025, from walking and running events to skydives, abseils and bake sales -- there really is something for everyone.
Fundraising not only helps raise essential funds for the charity but also raises awareness of mental health and community support services. Whether you're a seasoned athlete who wants to push yourself to meet a new target, or someone who wants to work towards a new, exciting goal, your efforts can make a profound difference to people who rely on our services.
Our challenges are also a great way to try something you'd never ordinarily get the chance to do, such as abseil down Liverpool's iconic cathedral, climb Snowdon by Night, or do a 10k around Alton Towers (then stay to go on all the rides while the park is closed to the general public!). Sounds like fun, hey?

Reaching new heights: Rosie Kaur's Three Peaks Challenge
Want to know how your efforts can impact others? Meet our Trust's Chief Medical Officer for Physical Health, Rosie Kaur, who recently took on the National Three Peaks Challenge in support of Mersey Cares. Rosie’s journey showcases how fundraising not only helps others but can also help to support your own physical health and overall wellbeing.
“Little physical health goals really do improve your mental health. It’s all about small steps at a time, which can lead to significant lifestyle changes both physically and mentally.” –
Rosie Kaur
Rosie took on the Three Peaks for Mersey Cares to aid the charity's mission to support mental health and community services across the region and found the challenge to be hugely beneficial in a variety of ways beyond the fundraising. She wants to inspire others to #MakeItMerseyCares in 2025 and do what they can to support people in our communities, while enjoying a huge sense of personal achievement and the positive benefits to health and wellbeing.
“Knowing that the money raised for Mersey Cares would support our services was a huge motivator for me. It felt like the perfect way to give back while also challenging myself.”
