Are you thinking about fundraising this year? We’re calling on our NHS colleagues as well as the wider community to #MakeItMerseyCares in 2024 so we can continue to tackle health inequalities, challenge stigma and enable our specialist mental health and community services to do more.
Your support will help us to fund projects that may be outside the scope of the NHS, to improve care and facilities for patients and communities across Cheshire and Merseyside.
From small fundraisers to 10k runs and even skydives, there are plenty of ways you can get involved – and your efforts really can make such a difference!
Want to get involved?
We would love you to take on one of our Mersey Cares events, which you can register for on your own or as part of a larger group. They’re a whole lot of fun as well as incredibly rewarding, and will help us to improve the experiences of service users.

Host your own fundraiser or get your workplace involved
If you don’t fancy one of our events, perhaps you could host your own fundraiser and choose your own #MakeItMerseyCares challenge? From bake sales and coffee mornings to sponsored walks or silences – there are no limits to what you can do!
You can also get involved with colleagues through a workplace challenge or event, or even by making Mersey Cares your workplace Charity of the Year.
If you’d like to chat about how you can organise your own fundraiser or for more information about fundraising opportunities in the workplace, drop our charity team a line to see how they can support you: charity@merseycare.nhs.uk

What we’ve done so far
With support, we’ve already done some brilliant things, such as provide gifts for children in care, fund ZSA suicide awareness training and deliver therapeutic sensory gardens for patients working towards recovery to go home. We’ve also been able to set up a monthly support group for Young Onset Dementia patients, host interactive and creative spaces for children and young people to write about their experiences after COVID, and provide support for foster carers and parents to understand teenage emotions.
But there is still so much more we can do! Through asking people to #MakeItMerseyCares in 2024 we’re striving to make a real difference.
Whichever way you choose to support the charity we’re extremely thankful. Your support will help us to fund innovative projects and developments and enable our services to do more.
