Incredible runners complete Liverpool Half Marathon for Mersey Cares!

25 March 2025

Together they raised £2,250 to support mental health and community services across the Mersey Care footprint

Thank you and congratulations to our Liverpool Half Marathon runners!

A huge congratulations and heartfelt thank you to our incredible runners who completed the Liverpool Half Marathon on Sunday, 23rd March, in support of Mersey Cares!

Their dedication and hard work has not only achieved them an amazing personal milestone but will also make a real difference to specialist, mental health, and community services across Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust.

Together, Abigail Goodwin, Jennifer Elliott, Liam Didsbury, Katy Robb, Pretty Ndhlovo, Sue Ryan, Katie Pownell, Sam Dobbs and Michael Allcock raised an incredible £2,250, helping us to fund vital projects that go beyond the scope of standard NHS healthcare provision. Every step taken brings support and hope to those who need it most—thank you!

"Through Mersey Cares we've have been able to enable young people we support who come from under privileged communities to have something to smile about even when they are going through emotional difficulties by providing them with presents and toys during the festive season and other special celebrations. I would like for this support to continue as I have witnessed the lovely reactions and appreciation from these young people which in turn contributes to a sense of hopefulness and future positive outcomes."

"Completing the half marathon was an amazing achievement for me and to know that I was doing this for charity, contributing to a great cause gave me the motivation I needed when the fatigue kicked in. I would like to thank everyone who has donated towards this great cause."
