The Yorkshire Three Peaks (Y3P) is a walking or running route that usually starts and finishes in Horton-in-Ribblesdale, in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. It is a circular route of some 24.5 miles.

From the very first trek around the route in 1887, it has grown in popularity with over 200,000 people attempting all or part of the route in 2022 (Source: National Park Authority figures) The Yorkshire Dales region attracts over 4 million visitors per year.

As walkers make their way around the route, they will walk through some of the best examples of limestone paving anywhere in the world. They will also pass the stunning Ribblehead viaduct built on Batty Moss, repaired and strengthened several times. The viaduct is seen as walkers make their way up Whernside from Ribblehead, a stunning example of Victorian vision, ambition and sheer determination by the navvies, engineers, and their families.

There is an unofficial completion time target of twelve hours, although most walkers complete it at a leisurely pace of anywhere between 10-13 hours

The route is usually walked anti-clockwise via the mountains of Pen-y-ghent (694m/2277ft), Whernside (736m / 2415ft), and Ingleborough (23m / 2372ft).
